Congratulations, Jacqueline Harvey!

The Department of Public Administration and faculty are pleased to announce that Jacqueline Harvey has successfully defended her dissertation:  "Morality and Mortality: the Role of Values in the Adoption of Laws Governing the Involuntary Removal of Life-Sustaining Medical Treatment in U.S. States".

PhD Student Invited to Speak at Leadership Denton

On Friday, September 30, 2011, first-year PhD student, Ashley Hyder, served as a speaker for Leadership Denton’s Non-Profit Session.  Ms. Hyder led a discussion on “Nonprofit 101,” which educated members of the 2012 Leadership Denton Class about the purpose and structure of nonprofit organizations, challenges and benefits of nonprofit work, and ways the class could use their talents and skills to impact a local nonprofit organization through volunteerism.

MPA and PhD August Newsletter

Dear MPA and PhD students:
 
Tomorrow begins the fall term and excitement grows as we anticipate the start of a new academic year.  We are off to an excellent start.  The 11 new PhD students spent Friday afternoon in an orientation introducing them to the expectations of the four-year, full-time degree program.  Then Saturday, we welcomed 30 new MPA students at an orientation in city council chambers at Denton City Hall followed by a splendid reception in the Denton Senior Center hosted by PASA.
