MPA December Graduates!

On Friday, December 16, we honored 18 graduates with a hooding ceremony, hosted by the faculty and staff.  Judge Carmen Rivera-Worley from the 16th District Court administered the Oath to Public Service that has a become a tradition for inducting these new holders of the MPA degree into the profession.  Congratulations to these new holders of the MPA degree:

Dear MPAers:

 Where has the fall semester gone?  It has been a beehive of activity for the past three months, but lots of exciting things are happening.  Here are the highlights.

 Congratulations to Alex Vargas on receiving the Lynn Anderson Fellowship from the Government Finance Officers Association of Texas.  This is at least the 11th consecutive year that a UNT student has won this $4,000 award.  Alex will be recognized next week at the GFOAT conference in Conroe. 

Study in India!

An opportunity to travel and study abroad in India, studying NonProfit Management (PADM 5700) with Dr. Sudha Arlikatti over the Winter Break.  For details, check out the flyer.

Our Summer 2011 MPA Graduates!

On Friday, August 12, we welcomed 17 new graduates into the ranks of MPA alumni.  The Hooding Ceremony, hosted by the Public Administration faculty, was held at the Gateway Center.  Larry Collister, a Denton attorney, administered the Oath to Public Service.  Following the reception, which was sponsored by PASA, the university commencement took place in the Coliseum. 

Fall 2011 PhD Student Colloquium

The MPA/PhD Colloquium Series will be offered during the Fall 2011 semester on Fridays, at 12:00pm in Chilton Hall 274.

MPA and PhD August Newsletter

Dear MPA and PhD students:
 
Tomorrow begins the fall term and excitement grows as we anticipate the start of a new academic year.  We are off to an excellent start.  The 11 new PhD students spent Friday afternoon in an orientation introducing them to the expectations of the four-year, full-time degree program.  Then Saturday, we welcomed 30 new MPA students at an orientation in city council chambers at Denton City Hall followed by a splendid reception in the Denton Senior Center hosted by PASA. 
 

Congratulations to Newest MPA Grads!

Congratulations to these graduates who recieved their MPA degree Friday, May 13, in ceremonies at the Coliseum.  The Public Administration faculty hosted a hooding ceremony that took place before the university commencement.

BOX CITY PROJECT

Students in Dr. Sudha Arlikatti’s PADM 5300 course, Introduction to Planning, had a lot of fun learning about comprehensive planning, zoning, unwanted land uses, collaborative planning, and transit oriented development building a box-city.  Photos here  .
