The advisors in the Student Services office provide ongoing support for PACS undergraduate students as they move from freshman to senior status.
We can help you:
How do I apply to UNT?
You will apply through our admissions offices:
I am applying to UNT as a graduate student, where do I go for advising?
Graduate advising is done by a faculty advisor within the department of your major. Our advising office is only for undergraduate students.
How do I change my major (for students already attending UNT)?
You meet with the appropriate academic advisor/counselor for the intended major and change during that meeting. Individuals changing to anthropology must first meet with a faculty member in the anthropology department. Their number is 940-565-2290. They are located in Chilton 330Q.
Where do I go to register for courses?
Login to my.unt.edu and click on Student Center/Register.
How do I know if I have a hold on my account for registration?
Login to my.unt.edu and click on Student Center/Register. Look for the Holds box in the top right corner of the page.
I have a TSI block. Where do I go to get that removed?
Visit the Academic Readiness page for more information about that.
I am getting a message that says "You do not have a valid enrollment time." What does this mean?
Registration times are broken down by classification (freshman, sophomore, etc.) and when a student last took classes at UNT (new admit—never attended at UNT, previous semester, one semester ago, over a year ago, etc.).
If you are a new admit to UNT then you must attend an orientation to register for classes. If you attended classes at UNT within the last two long semesters and/or summer then you may be registering out of your classification time.
To find your registration appointment login to my.unt.edu and click on Student Center/Register. Once there find the blue box on the right that says "Enrollment Dates." Click the green triangle to open the box.
Where can a find a listing of what courses will be offered in an upcoming semester?
UNT maintains a list of scheduled courses.
How do I drop a course (keeping at least one class this semester/term)?
The procedure for dropping a course varies depending on when in the semester the course is being dropped.
During add/drop (the first week of classes), one can make changes online. It is recommended that if you are dropping outside this period to speak with your academic advisor/counselor or our front desk staff on current procedures to drop.
Always go back and confirm you have been dropped from a course by looking at your schedule on my.unt.edu or contacting the Registrar's Office at 940-565-2111.
Where can I find important dates for the semester/term (registration dates, pass/no pass deadline, last day to drop a course, etc.)
Check UNT's academic and registration calendars.
How do I schedule an appointment with my academic advisor/counselor?
You will schedule that appointment through our front desk by calling 940-565-4115 or coming by our office at Chilton Hall 289.
How do I apply for graduation?
You will need to complete a paper application that is available through our front desk at Chilton Hall 289 at the beginning of the semester/summer. There is a deadline each semester/summer, so be sure to get your application completed as early as possible.
There is only one graduation application deadline for all summer graduates regardless of which summer term courses are completed.
Where can I find out information about my graduation ceremony?
Always check the commencement schedule for information about dates, locations, and more important information about commencement.
I am not doing well in my course, where can I go for help?
What other helpful resources exist at UNT?
Where do I go to find out what is happening on campus and to get more involved?
Check the Events Calendars or the Student Activities Center.
